The Holistic Hooves platform is now live!! As of today individuals and institutions are invited to sponsor a Regenerative Animal on Dimbangombe Conservancy and to become an integral part of our proven land management approach that addresses desertification, biodiversity loss, and rural economic vulnerability.
Firmly rooted in the principles of Holistic Management as developed by Allan Savory, the Holistic Hooves platform enables you to support the Habitat Regeneration Herd at the Africa Centre for Holistic Management (ACHM) in Zimbabwe.
The programme is built for impact, scale, and accountability, and this launch marks the beginning of a new pathway for practical, measurable investment in environmental restoration
The Vision: Why This Matters
Africa’s savannahs, forests and grasslands hold extraordinary potential. When managed appropriately, these landscapes can support increased biodiversity, greater resilience to climate variations, and more secure livelihoods for both rural and urban communities. Holistic Hooves was developed to help realise that potential—by connecting global supporters directly to a form of livestock management that restores ecosystem function, enhances food security and helps build vibrant, self sustaining communities.
Holistic Planned Grazing enhances the key ecosystem processes, water cycling, mineral cycling, energy flow and community dynamics.
At ACHM Dimbangombe near Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, we have demonstrated much success over the years, which many of your have followed closely and supported. Holistically planning our Grazing has reversed desertification, rebuilt soils, and improved ground cover, an ongoing process. Now we need to build on that success, with a long-term vision: to enable replication of these results across the region to position the continent as a leader in regenerative agriculture.
Each sponsorship supports this effort and contributes directly to land restoration and community wellbeing in some of the most degraded areas of Africa.
The Value Proposition: What You Support
Sponsoring a regenerative animal through the Holistic Hooves engagement platform represents more than a symbolic gesture. From just $37.50 per month, each sponsored cow becomes an integral, verifiable & traceable part of the Habitat Regeneration Herd, & each sponsored cow supports the regeneration of up to 15 Hectares or more of degraded land a year.
Sponsors receive regular updates on the impact role of their animal, including husbandry data and key events, grazing plans and routes, & data drawn from Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV), a scientific biological monitoring protocol developed by the Savory Institute.
Proof of Concept: ACHM in Action
The foundations of the Holistic Hooves engagement platform were laid at ACHM Dimbangombe, where Holistic Planned Grazing techniques have been used since 1994 to restore the previously degraded lands. This work has shown that livestock—when managed in symbiosis with natural processes—can reverse desertification, improve biodiversity, food security and advance economic opportunity in our local communities
ACHM’s Habitat Regeneration herd forms the operational core of this success, which has been documented over multiple years of fieldwork and monitoring. With the platform’s launch, we now support emerging technologies such as satellite livestock tracking (in collaboration with Farm Ranger) and ecological monitoring through EOV.
The goal is simple: to scale what works, in ways that are evidence-based, accountable, and community-driven.
