Dear Friends of ACHM,
In our recent newsletter, "Water is Life: Enhancing the Water Cycle," we launched an urgent appeal for $7,000 to fund a new water point at Dimbangombe Conservancy.
We're absolutely delighted to announce that we've raised $3,500 already!!
This covers the immediate cost of drilling the borehole in full, which is the first crucial phase of this project!
Given the urgent conditions, we are immediately moving ahead with the drilling, fully funded by the $3,500 raised so far!! Now, we urgently seek the additional $3,500 to equip the borehole with the essential infrastructure required to turn the borehole into a functional waterpoint. This includes the pump, solar panels and inverter, electrical and water fittings, piping, and concrete materials and labour necessary to channel the water into the riverbed. Your support will enable us to make the borehole functional and sustainable as a waterpoint, ensuring a reliable water source for our wildlife and livestock in this critical area during this critical time.
The project includes:
Borehole Drilling: $3,500 (funded!!!)
Solar Panels: $1,500
Inverter and Fittings: $1,200
Concrete and Building Materials: $800
This water point is essential as we face down the harshest conditions since the great regional famine of 1991/2, certainly. Our wildlife are suffering, just one easy to spot indicator that things are not normal is that we have had no thatching grass at all available for the first time in memory, indicating severe ecosystem stress. The timely completion of this project is critical to provide much-needed relief.
We invite you to contribute to this urgent cause and take advantage of our tiered rewards program. This is not just an opportunity to support a vital project but also a perfect excuse to visit ACHM personally! Contributors enjoy benefits such as complimentary bed nights and free enrollment in our courses, offering a firsthand experience of our impactful work.
Please consider making a donation today. Your support is crucial in ensuring we can continue to protect and sustain our Wildlife.
